murakami/Nelson collaborated with Group 4 Architecture on the expansion and rehabilitation of the San Lorenzo Library for Alameda County. The result is a colorful, warm and light filled landmark with strong indoor-outdoor connections. The 19,500 square foot library provides a broad range of services, reading materials, and advanced technology, including community gathering spaces and a café with a design focused on transliteracy, learning, and communication. The contemporary design is environmentally and operationally sustainable and is certified LEED Silver.
